Cobb's Pumpkin Patch & Trunk-R-Treat

We had a fantastic family day full of fun! We took the boys to Cobb's Pumpkin Patch earlier this afternoon since we were not able to go the past couple of weeks due to our whole household being sick. We all had a blast and I had fun taking many pictures of the kids to capture these precious memories. Here are a few of my favorite photos from today.

We took the boys to Trunk-R-Treat at church this evening. They got loads of candy and had lots of fun with all the activities. New Covenant Community Church is Awesome!!!

Festivity Fun: Day 3

Today, we finished our projects that the kids started on Tuesday. They turned out so cute! I think the parents are going to love them. The kids had fun making their own delicious treat to take home and enjoy. You will have to wait to find out what that might be?!?! :)

Here is a picture of their finished treat bags they decorated. (I'm not sure why this picture is sideways). The photo books fit perfectly inside!

These photo books turned out adorable. The kids had fun picking out all their own decorations and stickers to make them. Inside this photo book, are many pictures I have taken during daycare hours of all the crafts and fun we have had throughout the year with each individual kid.

Noah helped decorate the photo book for baby Spencer, since he is too young to do it himself. He was proud of helping out.

Preston made this photo book especially for his Nana to surprise her! She will be so excited when she opens it up and See's all the photos of her grand kids. She has been asking me for pictures of the kids for a long time, so she can start scrapbooking.

Can you guess what we will be making?!?!
That's right! Caramel Apples. Tis the season for sugar overload and yummy treats.
Preston had fun decorating his own Caramel Apple with M&M's. He just couldn't wait to take a bite out of it. :)

The kids decorated theirs with M&M's and we left the other 2 plain. Since they are so big, Preston & Noah are sharing one and the other is going home with my daycare kid. The two plain ones are for my Mom and I. My hubby isn't a fan of Caramel Apples, so I thought Nana would be happy to get one. She loves these!

This is Jeremiah's best little buddy Spencer. They looked so cute in their costumes together, but unfortunately, Spencer wasn't liking his costume. He was happy to get out of it!

Festivity Fun: Day 2

My friend Lora threw the best Annual Fall Kids Party today and we all had a blast! She definitely went way out of her way in making it fun for the kids with all the activities and great food! Thank you Lora.........You are one amazing party host! :)

Of course, I couldn't resist taking pictures of my cute boys in their costumes.

My sweet little Jeremiah, cute as ever! I just LOVE his frog costume!

Preston wanted to be Thomas The Train again this year (his favorite character for the last 2 yrs) and Noah makes one adorable little Giraffe.
The boys had fun decorating cupcakes with frosting and lots of candy. I usually don't let them eat too much candy, but I made an exception today.
Noah liked it so much, he got frosting all over his face.
Look at all that candy corn on Preston's cupcake.......OH MY! Who wouldn't have such a big smile with all of that!
This is the cute little candy corn craft that Preston picked out and made.

Festivity Fun: Day 1

I'm not a big fan on celebrating or decorating for Halloween, but I thought it would be fun for the kids to create a week of fun with ideas such as: orange, pumpkins, edible & memories. We will see what this week has in store for us. This was today's FUN!

The kids LOVED drinking orange milk with their special pumpkin straws.

I made orange jello jigglers and poured them into silicone pumpkin ice cube trays to have these cute little bite size snacks.

The kids helped cut these pumpkin shapes out with a pumpkin cookie cutter. They had so much fun!
They cut out more shapes with a small leaf cookie cutter. They picked this one out!
This is their Scarecrow coloring page they colored on. I think they were more excited about the craft, that they didn't want to finish coloring their page. :)

Here are their little treat bags that they started decorating today. This is to hold a special little project we are working on for their mommy's or grandma. Stayed tuned to see the finished project and what's going to be inside! :)

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

I was searching for a good recipe for Crab Stuffed Mushrooms because this is one of my hubby's favorites. I wanted to surprise him and make him something he loves and have it ready to eat once he got home from work. I have tried several recipes in the past, but nothing to rave about............that's until I found this recipe! This is the best recipe ever! I'm not a mushroom fan, but I even love these myself. This is now my hubby's most favorite meal and he keeps asking for me to make these. This is a must try recipe!!! This recipe is from Paula Deen. :)

I remembered to take a picture after they were almost gone. They were too delicious to have any leftovers.

Crab-Stuffed Mushrooms

1 cup crab meat
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup fresh parsley leaved, chopped ( I used dried parsley, about 1/4 cup or so)
1/2 cup green onions, chopped ( I left this out, my hubby doesn't like onions)
4 tablespoons Parmesan
House Seasoning, recipe follows
2 portobello mushroom caps or 10 white mushrooms caps
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Nonstick cooking spray

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Combine the crab meat, cream cheese, parsley, green onions and Parmesan cheese. Season with House Seasoning to taste. Stuff the mushroom caps with the mixture and top with bread crumbs. Spray the tops with nonstick spray to help them brown. Transfer to the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the filling is hot and melted.

House Seasoning
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic

Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

Enjoy!

Tambourines

While Preston was at Awana's this week, they made Tambourines and he just loved it. He wanted to make another one for himself and for his brother Noah. I thought it would be fun to help the kids make them with our daycare kids as well. They all had a great time creating their own little tambourines. They turned out very cute! It's amazing how you give the same supplies to each kid, but how different and unique they each turn out. I love watching the kids use there own creativity and how excited and proud they get once they have completed it.

Preston was trying so hard to peel the backs of the stickers off without wanting any help. He's a big boy now and he wants to do everything himself.

They were having so much fun with all the different stickers to choose from.

The outcome of all 3 tambourines made by the kids. Very cute!

Preston was proud of what he had made. AND oh my..........was it loud in our house for awhile. What was I thinking?!?! :) Although it was cute watching the kids dance around and make up there own music and singing.

Nature Art

The boys and I were enjoying this fabulous weather this past week. We took walks outside (the boys call them "nature walks") and I gave them a list of things to find and collect. They did a great job and they had a blast in doing so. They found everything on the list which included: rocks, leaves, bark, sticks, flowers & acorns. I incorporated there nature walk with what they were learning in Cubbies (Awana's) to help them understand the meaning better. Their verse to remember was: God created the heavens & the earth Genesis 1:1.

Much to my surprise, my son Preston memorized his verse within the second time hearing it and he was excited to tell us all week what it was. The kids took all the nature items they found outside and glued them on the paper to make a collage. They LOVED it!

They had fun learning how to color over the paper with a leaf underneath to make a leaf imprint. It's so cute to see how excited they get once they see what it does.

I then let the boys color the rocks they found with their favorite color. Of course........Preston's favorite color is blue! His saying is "Mommy, I'm so in to blue". :)

He was making sure he was coating his rock real good with paint so he wouldn't leave any open spots.
