Sewing Club- Project #1

Here is my first block square I finished for our Sewing Club. It turned out cute! I was hoping to get my second one done before our meeting tonight, but unfortunately, I haven't had any free time lately. I have been so busy during the week running my home daycare and it seems as though we have had every weekend booked for the last couple months with something going on. Things are starting to settle down now and I should have alot more free time this month to catch up.

Once I catch up, I also have another project in mind for the boys. I will be making Thomas The Train travel pillows for the car. The boys have been wanting something small and soft to rest their heads on while traveling, so I thought this would be the perfect solution they would enjoy. I will post pictures when I complete this project! :)

This was our first project and this pattern is called "The Nine Patch".

Father's Day Project: Part 2

This is the second part of our Father's Day Project for Daddy! The saying around our house is "I love you to pieces". Preston started saying that a long time ago and we thought it was adorable. As I was viewing the web for Father's Day ideas, I found this one that was perfect for the boys. We took a 5x7 photo frame and put a picture of the boys in it. We took puzzle pieces and spray painted them a color of their choice. We glued the puzzle pieces onto the frame and used paint pens writing: " I love you to pieces"! How fabulous is that.......a perfect gift for daddy! We put a magnet on the back so he can either hang it on the refrigerator at home or take it to work to show off his adorable little sons :)

The boys had so much fun making these projects! They are super excited to give them to daddy that I'm not quit sure if they can wait until Sunday???

Father's Day Project

Here is our Father's Day Project for Daddy! The older boys had so much fun painting there hands, they kept asking if we could do more :) I got a glossy ceramic tile and used enamel paint for the prints. I then used paint pens to write the kids names & date to personalize it and make it special. I sprayed sealant over the top so the tile will stay nice and the paint won't wear off over time.

The older boys Preston & Noah did handprints.
We added this poem on the back:

My Handprint

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But everyday I'm growing big
And soon I'll be very tall
Then all my little handprints
Will be hard to recall
So here's a special handprint
Just so that you can say
This is how my fingers looked
When I placed them here today.

The babies Jeremiah & Spencer did footprints.
We added this poem on the back:

Walk A Little Slower Daddy

"Walk a little slower Daddy,"
said a child so small,
"I'm following in your footsteps
and I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true,
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

The boys are working on another fun Father's Day Project and hopefully they will be done by tomorrow. We will post more pictures once we have it completed!

Random Pics

Preston & Noah always love having their pictures taken. They were having such a great time playing with eachother this morning, I had to catch them in action! I have too many pics. to post, but here are a couple I wanted to share with you :)

My little Jeremiah Scott turned 2 months on June 2nd! He is so precious and an absolute joy to be around. He is just starting to show his cute personality that consists of always being happy, smiling or cooing. Jeremiah's big brothers can't stop giving him enough hugs & kisses all the time.
